The Partnership Programme

This is a 5 week programme where players pair up and bat together each week in the nets.

We simulate match conditions In these intensive 30 minute sessions and players of similar age and ability are paired together for the session with the bowling machine operating. The coaches set a field with players expected to find the gaps, call and run between wickets. It will test the fitness of players and they will be asked to score 2’s and 4’s during the first 5 balls of the over then find a single on the last ball of each over to retain the strike. Coaches will demonstrate how to execute these important 'release' shots and at the end of each over the coaches will provide feedback on their progress. They often say, “Cricket is 50% ‘between the ears” and these sessions are designed to get players thinking about game day strategies.

You can select a mate as your batting partner through the programme and if players don’t have a batting partner we will match them up with a player of similar age and ability. That partner can be the same person every session or we can mix it up. Ideally your partner should be of a similar age and ability so we don’t have to waste time changing the speed settings on the bowling machine each over.

The programme starts on the weekend of August 24th & 25th, 2019 and concludes on the weekend of September 21st & 22nd. There will be no make up sessions if you are unavailable on any given weekend.

Great idea - combining match fitness with technical aspects. Very challenging and enjoyable

I thoroughly recommend Pat’s partnership program for all aspiring young cricketers - Pat runs a physically demanding session whilst imparting valuable lessons about running between wickets and playing ‘tempo’ cricket.
