Girls Cricket Coaching - (Refer also our Girls Cricket Academy page)

Girls cricket is the fastest growing sector of the game.

The success of the Australian Women's National Cricket Team has fuelled interest in the game and Australia is currently the top team in the International Cricket Council (ICC) world rankings. The WBBL has also raised the profile of women's cricket and the Woolworths Blasters programmes offer a grass roots skill development. The All Girls Cricket Competition (AGCC) has then created a clear pathway through to senior cricket.

Here at Cricket HQ in Melbourne, we work with girls to develop their batting, bowling and wicket keeping skills. We also work on game day strategies including the mental side of the game.

Our clients include girls as young as 7 through to senior players and a number of our girls participate in our winter cricket programme or book regular one-on-one sessions. As a guide, when players book their first one-on-one session we put their batting technique under the microscope in our 'Batting  Lab'.  We work through the key aspects of the player's set up to lay the foundations to score runs on both sides of the wicket.

Part of the initial analysis explores ways to help players generate more power. Where possible, we use state of the art BOLA bowling machines and work through the full array of shots starting with front foot off and on drives. As the player develops we then move to back foot pull and cut shots. We also analyse bowling actions - spin and pace as required.
